    Mr. Golemon,

I just finished reading Ancients, and it was my first in the Event Group series. I must say it was an excellent book. Considering that my favorite author is Clive Cussler. In my opinion your work rivals his.

My comment isn't concering your podcast, but it's about your book. I think you need a new proof reader.

Please don't take offense to this, but I noticed a couple of missing words in sentences. I'll be straight with you (and your editor/publisher). Unfortunately, I cannot give page and line numbers. This is becuase I was not really aware of this site at the time of reading. Perhaps, next time I read it, I'll jot them down.

I can imagine when writing a novel, you can miss some thing, but I assumed your editor would have a proof reader for that. However, as I said before, it was an excellent book. Perhaps a bit slow to start, but it turned out to be quite a page-turner.

I'm looking forward to jumping back in the series and reading your 2 prior novels before reading your latest.

It was a pleasure reading your book.

    Sincerely,

    Rick Leon,

      Dear Rick--

Thank you for your letter. It has been a while since I wrote an explanation for the editing flaws in ANCIENTS. And high time I apologize again for those errors.

The system breakdown was two fold on the printing side. First, the printers went with the unedited version of ANCIENTS for print and it went all the way through their system of checks and balances and went to print in that form, thus the hardback with all the glaring mistakes made by me in the original draft--horrible I know. Then on the paperback version, that was mine and my editors fault for not pulling the printed format of Ancients from the printer, thus the same manuscript was printed up again for the paperback.

Now, as a promise to my readers, this will never happen again. I have initiated my own protocols for making sure that an unedited version of my work gets anywhere near a printed before final approval from myself countersigned by my editor and the vice president of Thomas Dunne Books. As I said, I will never insult my readership again in this most embarrassing circumstance. I think you can pick up LEVIATHAN and count the mistake that got by the editors on one hand, and that's saying something now days.

      Sincerely--

      DLG

I'm a big fan of your work and as the owner of a new Kindle, which I like much more than I thought I would, I was hoping to know if your books will be available in that format anytime soon. Not sure what the considerations are with making a book available in electronic format, but I'm sure there are a few. Hope to hear. Thanks.

      Dear Mike--

Thank you for your note. Yes, the Event Group novels will be going digital very soon. There are considerations due to the fact that an awful lot of hardcovers and paperbacks are out there and my publisher as well as others want to get as many of those sold as possible before offering up the digital formats.

      Thank you very much!

    Dear David:
Throughly enjoy your fantastic Event series. When can we expect the next Event novel? Can you give us some info on plot, title, release date, etc.? Also, what can you tell us about the other two series you're contemplating, one about the supernatural, and one about "a hunter of sorts", as per your NovelBlog interview? They sound scary, and I love 'em already! You also mentioned in that interview a plot outline for the Abraham Lincoln raid on Ararat...sounds marvelously fantastic!
I've recommended your other novels to a number of friends, and every one of them who has bought them agree with me that your work is "out of this world', "an Event in themselves"! Keep up the greater than great work, update your website often, and tell everyone to get out of my way, as I want to be first in line at the bookstore when the next Golemon novels come out!
    Thanks again!!!

      Dear Jim--

Thank you for your letters to the Event Group. I am proud to say that the funnest novel in the Event Group series will be on the shelves on July 6th, 2010. The plot line starts with the crossing of the land bridge in Alaska, and jumps to the assassination of the royal Russian family Romanov. How all this ties in is the Event Group mystery, it will be safe to say that the Event Group runs into a pretty nasty character in the unexplored regions of the Canadian wilderness who will in no uncertain terms explain the history to them.

I hope you enjoy Primeval as much as the other adventures, as this novel was one of the funnest of the series to write. Also standby by for a sneak preview of LEGACY, the longest and most complex novel of the series to date, a 700 million year old mystery send Jack and the men and women of the Group on an adventure that's literally out of this world!

      Thanks again,

      DLG

    Dear David:
I read quite a few thriller authors, and I must say your work is in the "top of the line" tier, and would lend itself well to movies, a series, or mini-series. Any insight on possibilities for the future of us seeing the Event Team on the screen? I could almost picture your work as becoming the "action version" of a new "X-Files", and that's a good thing!
    Sincerly yours,

      Dear Jim--

Thank you for your note. We have high hopes for a deal in Hollywood soon, but we will not compromise on quality for the sake of money. Its one thuing to put out an action oriented story, but another to take that story and shot-change it into a B-Movie. We just want honesty in any Hollywood version of the product to follow the story line and characters as closely as possible.

      Thank you,

      David Lynn Golemon
