Booklist Review of LEVIATHAN!
Leviathan.Golemon, David L. (author).Aug. 2009. 368p. St. Martin’s/Thomas Dunne, hardcover, $24.95 (9780312376635). REVIEW. First published June 19, 2009 (Booklist Online). The fourth adventure of the Event Group continues the tradition of mixing history with page-turning suspense. Still mourning the death of their commander, the team members find themselves attacked from within. Their headquarters almost demolished, the men and women of the group are truly on the ropes. Then ships from around the world are destroyed by what appears to be a monstrous submarine straight out of a Jules Verne novel. Can the team organize itself to stop this madman from holding the oceans hostage? Fans of Clive Cussler, Verne, X-Files, and military tactical thrillers will find much to enjoy in this increasingly clever series. — Jeff Ayers Booklist |

I really loved the story told in 'Ancients', but reading it was such a chore. Dropped words, misspelled words, syntax and tense errors all combined to make it the most poorly edited book I have ever read. I can't wait for 'Leviathan'!!! Not long now!

Dear Arlene--
Thank you for the note. As i have promised before to all of my readers, the mistaken printed version of Ancients will never, ever be repeated. Although it was the error of the printer for placing the wrong version of the order, i take full responsibility and now walk my manuscripts along with St. Martin's and Thomas Dunne through the entire process.
And yes, Leviathan's release is very exciting, as I am claiming my best work from beginning to end.
Thank you,
DLG

I would like to ask Mr. Golemon to please read a post I made on Amazon.com about Leviathan, and the comments made by other readers under this original comment. My Amazon comment is under the name "Mysterri". I don't put much stock in what others think, but I do want Mr. Golemon to read this so that he knows I am sincere in considering him as an author in the same class as James Rollins and Matthew Reilly. Insulting you was never my intention, althought that is the way the others who commented made me feel. I greatly admire your work and recommend you to all my James Rollins' fan friends. And one more thing, Mr. Golemon, could you please write faster....the world needs at least two Event Group books a year to function properly. LOL Thanks again for the many hours of enjoyment your books bring and I look forward to many years of Jack, Sarah, Niles, Everett, Ryan, and the rest of the gang. You really do have a knack for those "Oh God, what is that in the dark getting ready to have me for lunch" creatures. We are not wealthy people so travel is not really an option for us at this time, so your books take me away from the everyday problems most Americans seem to be facing these days. Please keep up the good work and know that you have fans awaiting the next adventures of the Event Group. Your biggest fan, Terri

I just wanted to say thank you. "Leviathan" has firmly placed you ahead of Rollins, Reilly, Berry, Lincoln/Child, and every other adventure/thriller writer on the market currently.

Dear Glenn---
Never, ever thank me for doing what it is that i love, and everything I write is for people like you. That may sound corny, but I'm a corny kind'a guy. To be placed in the same breath as the authors you mentioned just thrills me to no end and I hope I justify such praise when Primeval becomes available. Again, thank you so much.

Ok, you did it again! Loved the book. Read with amazing speed. I will not give anything away but was very pleased with the whole thing! Are you working on anything else? I pass all your books on to my mom and she is just loves them. I think she reads them faster than me. Thank you for the adventure! Jennifer

SPOILER ALERT for other readers!
I made the mistake of reading beyond, "Ancient" here on this site.. and it became a foot dragger knowing that at some point.. Jack was going to be killed off.
Then.. as I'm sitting in the bookstore reading the inside cover of "LEVIATHAN", I'm quickly assured before I EVEN open the book.. that he lives!
While nice to know BEFORE I read the book.. I was VERY surprised that.. that big of a surprise.. was allowed to be put on the inside cover of the book.
At that point.. the race was to see HOW he survived.. I was so hopeful that you'd use the scenario I'd come up with! lmao! My imagination really ran wild.. But, we didn't even come close to using the same scenario!! lol
Wanna know? Alright! I recall in one of the books.. there was a coin.. from the FUTURE. I figured.. it was from Jack.. sending a signal.. that he was ALIVE! Somehow zapped forward in time at the Atlantis site!! lol.
Durn! Another one that got in trouble as a kid for thinking too much!! Eh?!
Keep up the excellent writing!! You've been added to my list of authors to buy for friends and family for all occasions! I don't believe anyone can buy TOO many books! lol It's just not possible!

Dear Cherei --
Thank you for your letter to the Event Group Files. I just want to say, keep up the imaginings, and keep up buying real books. Electronic media has gotten way out of hand, we need to feel a real book in our hands that we can share with others---after all, how many people do you know that will lend out their Kindle or other apparatus to share the written word? None, the damn things are too expensive. Books are the only way to go.
Thanks again,
David Lynn Golemon

Leviathan was an excellent book. I really enjoy the Event series a lot and I'm always looking forward the to next book. I was wondering when the next Event Group book released and what the title will be?
I wished you could release 2 a year instead of one =)

Dear Don--
Thank you for writing. The next Event Group novel is titled PRIMEVAL, and will be in your bookstore on July 6th, a month earier than the rest of the series. We are also working on releasing two Event Group novels inside of a calendar year, so hang on, we're coming!

David,
I was wondering when Leviathan will be out in paperback. I've read all the other books and it's the first and only series I've ever followed. I've been holding off on getting Leviathan because I wanted it in paperback like the rest of my Event Group books.
Thanks,
Chris

Dear Chris--
The Event Group is happy to announce that the paperback version of Leviathan will be out exactly one month after the release of Primeval, that would be August first, just in time for people to take it to the beach!
Thank you for reading and writing to the Event Group, Jack likes it when he's noticed.

Dear Mr. Goleman,
It seems that you produce an event files book every year, will we see one for 2010? I personally would love to read another before I ship out for Boot. Thanks

Please tell me that Jack isn't really gone, you can't do that to the team & I,we still need him. I haven't been able to lay my hands on a copy of Leviathan yet, but I hope that Jack shows back up. I can't be the only one who feels this way - can I?
